Life Update: From Aberdeen to Edinburgh

I've moved to Edinburgh for the next few weeks to work over the festival and to spend some time with my family, and hopefully, see some of the festivals.

This is my first full week in Edinburgh and our first day off to go exploring. I am so excited to see what the next few weeks bring.

Last week was full on; with packing and organising my flat, and saying goodbye to some of my closest friends who won't be in Aberdeen when I get back because they'll be off doing their masters in other cities. Then the move itself and starting my new job has all kept me busy.

I feel so guilty that so far this summer I haven't really done anything I had planned. I've read one book off my reading list (I did read another one that was recommended to me by a friend though, so a review is coming soon, I hope), I feel like I have barely blogged because I've just had nothing to really write about and I've not really done much else other than work.

I did manage to go home to Elgin for a few days before the move down to Edinburgh and it was the perfect way to recharge my batteries. I got to see so many friends and family and it was just really relaxed.

So now I'm in Edinburgh, as I mentioned before I'm going to be working as a waitress in a restaurant here, and it is going to be crazy busy with so many tourists because of the festival, but I hope that I get to see as much of all the festivals as I can.

Right now, Edinburgh is preparing itself for the largest arts festival in the world, the Edinburgh Fringe. During August Edinburgh will transform into the Festival City with thousands of visitors and hundreds of shows in the space of a few weeks. The city is going to be crazy celebrating the 70th anniversary of the Fringe.

The Edinburgh International Book Festival and the Edinburgh International Festival are both preparing to kick off in August too. With the three festivals running at once Edinburgh is going to be buzzing, and I absolutely can't wait.

I'm armed with my bullet journal full of lists of events I want to see, a couple of guides and a DSLR camera. Watch this space, hopefully, I will have much more to write about very soon.

As always,

Love, Lauren x
